Financial Accountant at OUTsurance

Job Description
We are looking for an accountant who wishes to build a career within the Group Finance department.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge and interest in the field of accounting. The responsibilities of this role will include the following:

• Preparing and capturing month end journals
• Preparing balance sheet reconciliations
• Preparing annual financial statements for the stand-alone Holdings company as well as assisting in preparing the Group consolidated financial statements
• Preparing monthly statutory balance sheet and income statement from TB data
• Assist in preparing the bi-annual statutory group returns
• Assist in preparing the Group budget
• Preparing normalised and headline earnings adjustment journals
• Assist with preparing and posting Share Trust journals
• Assist with the consolidation of the Group on a monthly basis
• Assist with implementing new IFRS projects
• Assist with implementing a new system for financial statements and consolidations
• Adhoc review and posting of journals
• Adhoc National Credit Regulator reporting on a quarterly basis
• Adhoc general ledger reconciliations
• Assist with general / ad-hoc tasks as required
• The candidate will report into the Group Team Manager

Qualifications

• Newly qualified CA(SA) or CA(SA) with one-year post articles experience

Experience

• Experience in the financial services/insurance industry and experience with consolidations.
• Microsoft Dynamics experience would also be beneficial.
