    Financial Manager

    Team Africa Ventures is looking for a reliable Financial Manager to join our growing organization. It will be your duty to analyze every day financial activities and subsequently provide advice and guidance to upper management on future financial plans. Team Africa is a venture builder, we co-create the technology businesses of tomorrow alongside other companies and entrepreneurs.

    We search for defendable niches and either build out opportunities ourselves or partner with other world-leading organisations to ensure success. We measure the result of our efforts not just by the multiples we aim to return, but by the pride we take in what these companies build. You will be partnering with our start-ups to build out their financial processes and procedures while taking full responsibility for the finance function.

    In this position, you will play a key role in the funding strategy and the long-term financial security of our organization. You will investigate new ways to improve our profitability and analyze markets and market trends for opportunities on which we may capitalize.

    The goal is to enable the company’s leaders to make sound business decisions and meet the company’s objectives.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Review of monthly management accounts
    • Presentation of monthly management accounts as required
    • Review and submit the VAT201’s
    • Review and submit the EMP201’s
    • Review and authorise payments
    • Review and authorise payroll payments
    • Calculation and submission of provisional and annual income tax
    • Payment of income taxes
    • Assist with preparation of annual financial statements and review thereof
    • Manage and execute the preparation of the annual audit
    • Manage and finalise the annual audit
    • Plan annual budgeting dates
    • Preparation of annual budgeting
    • Set up budgets with department heads
    • Present budgets to management for approval
    • Review monthly budget vs actual comparisons
    • Manage cash flow on a regular basis
    • Review financial analysis and assist if required
    • Forecast on a regular basis or as required cash requirements of the business in order to take action if required
    • Assist and review the board packs
    • Presentation of financial information for board packs
    • Assist with the strategy development of businesses

    Requirements:

    • A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles
    • Detail-oriented and well organized
    • Extensive understanding of financial trends both within the company and general market patterns
    • Bcom + SAICA articles completed
    • Minimum 3 years commercial experience
