Financial Planning Analyst at Swiss Re

About the role

You will act as intermediary between the Finance und Sales teams. Therefore, this position offers an outstanding opportunity to get an overview of some of the most complex and interesting insurance products of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.

 Key responsibilities include:

• Bound business controlling and financial projections for business in South Africa, collaborating with underwriting, operations, reserving and finance team Johannesburg.
• Support the legal entity finance team with local requirements, ensuring timely and accurate quarterly closing and annual planning for the South African entity.
• Provide insightful analytics for portfolio optimization and profitability reviews.

About you

With your analytical skillset and aptitude for numbers you enjoy working in Finance. Your strong interpersonal skills make it easy for you to interact with colleague and business partners in a large global corporation.

Essentials:

• University graduate with a primary or higher degree (or equivalent), preferably in finance/accounting/economics.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant working in financial planning & analysis or controlling activities preferably within a (Re)insurance environment.

 Nice to Haves:

• Strong ability to analyse and interpret financial data.
• Team player with strong communication skills to summarize complex technical issues to a non-expert audience. Flexibility to work in both a collaborative team environment as well as independently.
• Capable of building trust with all areas of the business, including Underwriting, Client Markets, Reserving and Finance colleagues. #LI
