Fitter - Durban at Safal Steel

Description

• Planning and organising of tasks and workplace
• Fault finding
• Plant inspections, compilation of reports
• Maintaining and installing including but not limited to all types of mechanical equipment
• Perform basic boiler making, welding, and basic rigging.
• Pre-start check, start-up procedures, controls the process, shut down the process and solve problems.
• Providing specialist support to maintenance and production teams.
• Developing applicable knowledge and skills related to the position profile.
• Must be prepared to work shifts when required. Capable of working alone and under pressure.
• Assist in the training of new employees within functional duties.
• Able to initiate and carry out tasks that improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Ability to liaise with team members, and cross-departmental personnel about plant issues or problems and effectively action it.
• Continuously reporting observed defects and deviations from the standard maintenance parameters and requirements to the maintenance supervisors.
• Proficient in official business language, good written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate efficiently to team members.

Requirements

Minimum qualification:

• Grade 12/N3/NQF4  (Mechanical) + Trade tested Fitter (Red Seal from approved training centre)
• Minimum 5 years post qualification experience in industrial/manufacturing environment in Heavy Engineering.
