Fitter / Gear Assembler at Phakisa Group

Job Purpose:

• The successful candidate will be responsible for the assembly and building of gears in accordance with technical specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assemble and build gears and related components
• Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Carry out precision fitting and alignment of mechanical parts
• Conduct inspections to ensure the quality and accuracy of assembled components
• Use hand tools, measuring instruments, and workshop machinery effectively
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations

Minimum Requirements:

• Trade-tested Fitter (Red Seal or equivalent)
• Proven experience in gear assembly and fitting
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and tolerances
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• High attention to detail and quality workmanship
• Good problem-solving skills
