Minimum Requirements
Recognised Fitter trade test
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar fast paced environment in the FMCG industry
Arc, gas welding and gas cutting experience essential
Basic workshop equipment experience with lathe, milling machines, etc.
Ability to take charge on major mechanical breakdowns with good communication and people
skills
Reliable vehicle and valid drivers license
Duties and Responsibilities
Repairs and maintenance of all mechanical equipment
Overhauling and assembling of all mechanical equipment
Welding, cutting and repairs on stainless steel pipes and structural members. (Basic boilermaking)
Housekeeping
Adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety Act
Adherence to all ISO/HACCP standards and procedures
Attend to breakdowns.
Inspections & planned work as per Job Cards
Ability to plan work in terms of downtime prevention is essential
Sourcing of spares costing for planned work
Shift work, Overtime, call-outs and standby required
