    General Manager

    Radio CCFM is a community radio station with a Christian ethos located in Muizenberg in Cape Town and is seeking to employ a General Manager who displays excellent communication skills with the ability to lead and manage a team. 
    The General Manager must be a Godly spiritual leader who is able to manage and oversee operations at CCFM. The General Manager is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Radio Station and in leading the staff to ensure they meet the key objectives of the radio station which include…

    •       Propose, implement and report on the strategic direction of the organisation;
    •       Set the radio stations objectives, motivate and lead staff to ensure that these objectives are met by considering the output, the audience and revenue;
    •       Recruit and retain employees, manage staff welfare and morale, and establish the radio stations culture;
    •       Manage internal communication with staff and external communications with listeners;
    •       Represent the radio station at a local level and building relationships within the community;
    •       Ensure that the radio station complies with laws, regulation and industry codes governing radio broadcasting;
    •       Make sure that complaints are dealt with swiftly and efficiently;
    •       Submit an annual strategic plan to the Board of Trustees annually
    •       Develop and maintain written policies and evaluation systems in such a manner that they remain current and relevant; and
    •       Ensure that adequate income is brought into the radio station
    • The General Manager is responsible for the success, profitability and conduct-on-air of the station ensuring it is compliant with the policies of CCFm and ICASA.
    • The General Manager also oversees the staff, public relations, marketing, profitability, capital requirements, and networking with communities.

    •       Strong business and finance skills.
    •       Exercise sound editorial judgement.
    •       Have general knowledge of the radio market, different radio stations and programme styles and the audience demographic.
    •       Able to work calmly and effectively under pressure
    •       Able to lead with confidence and decisiveness.
    •       Able to manage creative teams and encourage innovation.
    •       Obtained a relevant industry qualification and experience.
