Job Description

• A leading manufacturing company specialising in mobile ablution facilities, showers, kitchens, and custom-designed mobile solutions is looking for an experienced General Manager with strong expertise in strategic leadership, manufacturing operations, business development, and supply chain management to join their team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team, oversee production efficiency, drive innovation, and expand both local and international markets.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute strategic plans to maintain market leadership.
• Identify and capitalise on new business opportunities across domestic and export markets.
• Oversee manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and innovation.
• Drive business development, sales growth, and customer satisfaction.
• Build and maintain a reliable supplier and vendor network.
• Manage service delivery, after-sales support, and client training.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a 45-person team across multiple departments.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, governance, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Business Management, Manufacturing, or related field.
• 7–10 years’ experience in a senior operational leadership role, ideally within manufacturing/custom fabrication.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, custom design workflows, and R&D integration.
• Proven financial acumen and supplier negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of NRCS standards, trailer manufacturing, welding, plumbing, electrical systems, and trailer assembly is advantageous.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 3D is preferred
