Senior Quality Assurance Technologist (Spartan) at RCL Foods

• Our Talent Team is on the hunt for a Senior Quality Assurance Technologist for our Baking Division. The role will be based in Spartan and will report into the QA And Food Safety Manager.
• The purpose of the role is to maintain food products that consistently meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards through proactive systems management, technical oversight, and cross-functional collaboration. The role drives continuous improvement, supports cross-functional collaboration, and mentors QA staff to uphold quality excellence.

Minimum Requirements    

• A 3-year qualification in Food Technology/Food Science/Biotechnology or equivalent.
• A minimum of 5 years food processing (FMCG) experience or a Minimum of 3 years in baking experience in Quality Management.
• Minimum of 3 years in supervisory or managerial role.
• Knowledge and understanding of QA systems TQM Knowledge.

Duties & Responsibilities    
Housekeeping and Hygiene:

• Oversee microbiological sample testing and compliance.
• Support allergen control initiatives.
• Maintain legal compliance in hygiene and sanitation.
• Participate in safety and quality team discussions.
• Participate in Food Safety meetings

Quality Control:

• Monitor product conformance to specifications.
• Conduct BOM and bird bill tests.
• Update customer specifications and develop work aids.
• Control QA check sheets for legal and customer requirements.

Quality Assurance:

• Develop and implement QA systems with SHEQ team.
• Adhere to compliance with ISO and company QA standards.
• Maintain QA documentation and SOPs.
• Train production staff on QA systems.
• Lead internal audits and support external audit readiness.

Communication and Reporting:

• Investigate and respond to customer complaints.
• Compile exception reports and update QA stats.
• Communicate with customers and suppliers on QA matters.
• Lead QA meetings and drive delivery of action plans.
• Manage employee relations and performance appraisals
