Graduate: IT Infrastructure Services at MTN

Mission/ Core purpose of the Job

• The Graduate: IT Infrastructure Services will be responsible to assist with and provide an end-to-end administrative support service to the Group IT Infrastructure Services function at Manco.

Key Performance Areas: Core, essential responsibilities / outputs of the position (KPA's)
The graduate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

• General administration, support and co-ordination of functions for the Group IT Infrastructure Services
• Compile reports according to required formats and provide status / progress reports as required
• Prepare presentations using information received
• Drive improvement across the business to achieve the optimal service quality deliverables
• Research of content for presentations, creation and editing of presentations, presentation layout and quality assurance in alignment with MTNs corporate communication standards
• Editing of media (videos, audio) to reduce length while capturing the essence of the presentations / meetings
• Assist in the collation of information for reporting dashboards on various performance metrics internally to Senior Management (Exco, Group Risk etc.) as well as cross functional teams and externally to vendors; following up with the relevant parties to ensure information provided on time
• Assisting in curation of content in knowledge bases (intranet), understanding of the content, assisting staff (Group and Opco) in finding documents and knowledge, ability to answer frequently asked questions

Requirements analysis for the Group IT Infrastructure Services

• Research and define IT Infrastructure requirements as input to the Infrastructure Services
• Develop reports, briefings whitepapers and other artefacts as required
• Influence management decision making in Group Technology related aspects
• Pro-active, champion of quality and doing things right the first time
• Task analysis and evaluating surveys and workshop results.
• Document any identified required changes, and communicate them to the relevant third parties/colleagues.
• Using IT resources at an advanced level to create IT solutions, enabling organisations to better meet their goals.
• Communicate with internal colleagues to understand the needs of departments and the organisation as a whole;
• Work with external stakeholders to understand and investigate feedback into the information security service/function/product provided;
• Gain agreement, usually from senior management, of the best method of introducing your recommendations to Infrastructure Services;
• Communicate the benefits of recommendations across stakeholders (eg. OpCos) and help to address any uncertainty and concern;
• Produce written documentation to support your work, report on your findings and to present to stakeholders when necessary;
• Work on solutions supporting multiple business areas, integration points and a large number of affected components
• Required to work under general direction within a clearly defined accountability framework
• Gather and interpret requirements from the business
• Participate in the solution design process
• Prepare the requirements specifications
• Define the success criteria for solution testing
• Analyse and decompose relevant business processes
• Performing business analysis and process improvement within assigned solution project
• Provide assistance to solution delivery on implementation and training.
• Assist (when necessary) with systems testing
• Ensure that proposed test solutions cover all aspects of delivered business specification

Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)
Education:

• Com Informatics / BSC Computer Science / BTech Electrical Engineering Degree
• Com Honours degree advantageous

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years’ relevant working experience
• Administrative experience
• Experience working in a medium to large organization in a complex, technology-oriented industry advantageous
• MS Office Suite (Excel Advanced)
• MS PowerPoint
