    Graphic Designer

    MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:   

    • Responsible for helping to drive the creative direction of the course development, design and branding for on line and e learning initiatives.
    • Offer input to creative meetings and sharing ideas and able to present conceptualised ideas for layout,
    • Producing attractive and effective designs for all media – mobile and web,
    • Communicating with senior team members to receive feedback,
    • Liaising effectively with internal and external stake holders, new clients and other team members,
    • Researching current and useful illustrations/images from different platforms and reworking logos and colour templates,
    • And support the team throughout the execution of course development to final upload to the LMS

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:   

    • Producing attractive and effective designs for all media – mobile and web, create mock up version of ideas and templates, creating an easy to use and informative design template (accessible on web and mobile)
    • Understand and execute conceptualisation as per brief (verbal/documented) or mock-up.
    • Researching useful illustrations/images from different platforms, reworking logos and colour palettes,
    • Creating visuals to accompany text; for example, creating brand and style specific icons for course content creating illustrations within course material.
    • Designing when additional illustrations are also required, such as badge designs.
    • Communicating with Senior Designer and Instructional Designer, presenting conceptualised ideas for layout, supporting both designers
    • Delegate design tasks in design team as per capacity, skill, etc. Gain feedback during stages of design process.
    • To do ad hoc graphic designs as per request by Senior Mage
    • Researching images and photographs which add value to the content, using different research platforms (stock images, artists, blogs)
    • Research effective imagery across various resource platforms and apply to design – course material or marketing campaigns. (Piktab or iStock)
    • Create and present design briefs and visions for the courses, create mock templates for senior staff.

    REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:

    • Certification in Adobe Suite (CC)
    • Certification in Graphic Design and HTML & CSS basics.
    • Advantageous: Degree in Graphic Design.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Adeptness with leading design software packages
    • Some creative industry experiences
    • The ability to meet deadlines in a highly pressurised environment
    • A background of working as part of a design team
    • From time-to-time a junior designer may need to work hours that aren’t typical, so a flexible approach is needed to get the best from the job.
