    Group Social Performance Manager

    Overview    

    The purpose of the role is to develop and implement an effective social performance plan across all Omnia operations, in line with the ESG strategy. This includes but is not limited to the development and implementation of the social performance objectives, standards and governance, identification and implementation of sustainable Socio-Economic Development (SED) and leveraging shared services Human Capital and Procurement for Skills Development (SD) and Enterprise Development (ED) strategies with focus on Omnia communities as beneficiaries. The social performance plans should be appropriate for communities at site level, while leveraging group skills and resources. 

    Qualifications    

    • A degree or other relevant qualification in Social Sciences / Development Economics or related field required 
    • Qualification in project management will be advantageous
    • In possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness
    • Valid driver’s license

    Experience    

    • Extensive experience in socio-economic development and stakeholder engagement
    • Experience in mining industry and track record of community projects advantageous
    • Experience in project management and community development will be advantageous
    • Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in Community Development or a similar role in a socio/economic development field

    Duties    

    Strategy 

    • Management and maintenance of the group social license to operate through the alignment of Social Performance strategy objectives.
    • Initiating and maintaining good stakeholder relations. 
    • Managing of the social responsibility budget in line with the strategic objectives of the Group.
    • Responsible for planning and implementation of the Socio-Economic Development and Enterprise Development elements of the BBBEE scorecard Governance and policies.
    • Effective development, implementation, monitoring and communicating the social performance objectives and outcomes. 
    • Effective development and implementation of social performance governance, compliance and standards. 
    • Identify, communicate and monitor the social risks, voluntary principles and human rights.
    • Plan and implement socio economic assessment and develop a SEAT for the group 
    • Ensure proper due diligence is completed for all new implementation partners and beneficiaries.

    Community Safety 

    • Collaborate with the relevant stakeholders to develop and implement a social incident management procedure in line with good governance, regulatory and compliance.
    • Ensure the communities neighbouring MHIs and key transport routes are incorporated into the Emergency Preparedness Plan.
    • Organising of teambuilding activities for employees where they get the opportunity to take part in community projects.

    Corporate social investment 

    • Administer CSI funding: Communicate the CSI policy and guidelines, monitor and report on CSI spend.
    • Implementation and administration of the groups CSI strategy and plans.
    • Organising fund-raising events to ensure a sustainable income stream to supplement social responsibility efforts.
    • Manage all requests for funding and conduct regular site visits to beneficiaries.
    • Monitoring and evaluation of community social investment projects.
    • Organising of teambuilding activities for employees where they get the opportunity to take part in community projects.

    Local economic development 

    • Collaborate with the relevant stakeholders to develop, implement and monitor a local economic development plan in line with the group business and ESG strategy, BU focus areas and government development plans.
    • Report impact delivered against the monitoring and evaluation plan for LED plan, projects and engagements.
