Handyman at Tsebo Solution

• Tsebo Facilities Solutions is looking for a Handyman to be responsible for carrying out general maintenance repairs, completing branch and site maintenance work orders, supporting Technicians with electrical and HVAC activities, and ensuring all client facilities remain safe, functional, compliant, and well-presented. The role contributes to the efficient operation of banking branches through timely, quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.

Duties & Responsibilities    
Operational Delivery

• Complete all maintenance tasks according to approved work orders.
• Perform general handyman duties including repairs, installations, and minor refurbishments.
• Assist Technicians with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and maintenance activities.
• Conduct inspections and identify maintenance requirements proactively.
• Ensure branch environments remain safe, functional, and visually presentable.

Maintenance Activities

• Carry out basic electrical maintenance such as replacing bulbs, fittings, switches, and sockets.
• Perform basic plumbing repairs including leaks, blockages, and washer replacements.
• Conduct carpentry repairs including hinges, locks, and minor door maintenance.
• Complete painting, patching, skirting, and cosmetic repairs.
• Undertake tile repairs, grouting, and minor flooring work.
• Install or maintain signage, decals, and basic fittings.

Customer Service

• Maintain positive working relationships with branch staff and site stakeholders.
• Ensure minimal disruption to branch operations while executing maintenance tasks.
• Respond professionally and respectfully to client requests and concerns.

Reporting and Administration

• Complete inspection checklists accurately.
• Maintain records of completed work, site photos, and maintenance activities.
• Submit monthly reports within required timelines.
• Update maintenance records and prepare operational statistics as required by management.

Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ)

• Adhere to all Tsebo and client SHEQ policies and procedures.
• Use PPE, tools, and ladders safely and correctly.
• Report safety hazards and incidents immediately.
• Maintain a zero-harm approach in all work activities.

Skills and Competencies    

• Basic electrical maintenance.
• Basic plumbing repairs.
• Carpentry and general building repairs.
• Painting and finishing techniques.
• Tile, grouting, and minor flooring repairs.
• Signage and fitting installation.
• Safe use of tools and maintenance equipment.
• Basic maintenance reporting and record keeping.

Qualification

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Technical or trade-related certificates advantageous (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, basic electrical).
• Valid driver's licence advantageous.

Experience 

• Minimum 2 years' experience in general maintenance, handyman services, building upkeep, or facilities support.
• Experience working across multiple sites or in field-service environments beneficial.
• Experience working safely at heights and using ladders and hand tools.
