Relevant Degree (Commerce, Legal, Engineering or other relevant to operations/directorate business area)
Minimum 8 years relevant experience with minimum 5 years supervisory experience
Relevant experience in a contract management environment in local/government will be advantageous
Proficiency in MS Office applications and SAP
A valid driver’s licence and the ability to travel
Key Performance Areas
To oversee branch activities and apply body of specialist knowledge and expertise to enable adherence to the organisation wide approach to Contract Management as set out in the Contract Management Framework and other relevant City of Cape Town (CCT) policies and procedures; compliance with the regulatory framework applicable to Contract Management and the achievement of value for money through embedding and overseeing best practice contract management principles Citywide.
Oversee execution of centralised Contract Management functions
Oversee provision of specialist contract management advice and support
Oversee maturity and competency assessments and implementation of initiatives for maturity and competency improvement
Oversee provision and coordination of training
Oversee the conduct of contract reviews, project gate reviews (commercial and regulatory case), mentoring initiatives, branch responsibilities as it relates to transversal contracts as well as design (and continuous improvement) of procedure relevant to Contract Management in the City of Cape Town
Oversee branch activities to ensure auditability of the City of Cape Town’s contract management function and provision of audit support during internal and external audits
