Degree/BTech in electrical engineering or degree in finance
Eight (8) to ten (10) years’ relevant experience
Additional leadership experience in managing contracts and change experience in developing and managing systems that significantly affect the billing of customers
Full understanding of the theory, concepts and practices within the energy trading environment to create solutions for requirements
Excellent report writing skills
Computer literacy in MS Office applications
Valid Code B driver’s licence.
Key Performance Areas
Research, develop, implement, update policies, standards and processes that facilitates the delivery of an effective and efficient energy trading service
Identify and define the immediate, short- and long-term objectives and goals
Keep abreast with energy trading and system development
Develop contacts with peers in organisations with similar energy trading environments
Effectively manage and control the contracts and agreements related to the buying and selling of energy
Effectively manage and control energy purchases by managing all the Eskom bulk accounts and Independent Power Producer (IPP) sundry power purchase agreements (PPAs)
Manage the bulk and miscellaneous energy purchase budget
Effectively manage, control and support the billing activities of all electricity LU, SSEG and Wheeling customers
Maintain and develop the support of all stakeholders in ERM energy trading environment
Prepare capital and operational budgets and control expenditure against approved budget allocations
Lead, coordinate and direct the staff and resources and controls outcomes associated with utilisation, productivity and performance of personnel.
