    Professional Officer - Contract Management

    Requirements

    • A relevant B degree (commerce, legal, engineering or other relevant to operations/directorate business area)
    • Three (3) years’ relevant contract management and contract administration experience
    • A valid driver’s licence and the ability to travel
    • Computer literacy in Microsoft applications
    • Proficiency in MS Office applications.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Apply a body of specialist knowledge and expertise to enable adherence to the organisation-wide approach to contract management, as set out in the Contract Management Framework and other relevant City of Cape Town (City) policies and procedures
    • Assist in the Improvement of contract management maturity
    • Assist in standardisation contract management processes
    • Conduct contract reviews and other centralised contract management functions such as gate reviews, contract management advice, centralised system based activities, guarantee management
    • Coordination of transversal contracts
    • Provide support during internal and external audits
    • Provide contract management training
    • Assist in the improvement of individual competence in contract management through mentoring and other developmental interventions
    • Ensure compliance to applicable policies, regulations and procedures.

    Professional Officer - Management Office - Area Office

    Requirements

    • A tertiary qualification within the Built Environment or related field
    • Up to 5 years relevant experience
    • Knowledge of legislation applicable to Local Government as well as Council policies, processes and procedures would be an advantage
    • Computer literate MS office, SAP
    • Valid code EB driver’s licence
    • Own vehicle preferable

    Key Performance Areas

    Senior Professional Officer- New Media

    Requirements

    • An appropriate B degree / Btech or NDip +Advanced Diploma in public relations, marketing or communications.
    • Five(5) to eight (8) years’ relevant experience within the marketing and media environment
    • Well-developed project management skills
    • Sound working knowledge of new media marketing tools
    • Valid B/EB driver’s licence
    • Incumbent must be physically fit. The role requires the candidate to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb to perform work. Individual must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull branding materials and objects.

    Key Performance Areas
    Provide support for destination marketing and events, and investment promotion in designing implementation plan for the approved place marketing strategy as well as programmes to deliver these plans

    • Support in deploying new media marketing in the delivery of the City's events function
    • Administration of functions which support the service delivery components of the department, including writing reports to City’s administrative an political heads and committees and monitoring of mass media
    • Support with the design of implementation plans for the approved tourism and place marketing strategy as well as destination marketing and investment programmes to deliver these plans; provide inputs into IDP planning and execution
    • Support the Tourism and Place Marketing Branch in delivering the City's events function, and provide recommendations on new media strategies and campaigns.

    Head Energy Trading

    Requirements

    • Degree/BTech in electrical engineering or degree in finance
    • Eight (8) to ten (10) years’ relevant experience
    • Additional leadership experience in managing contracts and change experience in developing and managing systems that significantly affect the billing of customers
    • Full understanding of the theory, concepts and practices within the energy trading environment to create solutions for requirements
    • Excellent report writing skills
    • Computer literacy in MS Office applications
    • Valid Code B driver’s licence.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Research, develop, implement, update policies, standards and processes that facilitates the delivery of an effective and efficient energy trading service
    • Identify and define the immediate, short- and long-term objectives and goals
    • Keep abreast with energy trading and system development
    • Develop contacts with peers in organisations with similar energy trading environments
    • Effectively manage and control the contracts and agreements related to the buying and selling of energy
    • Effectively manage and control energy purchases by managing all the Eskom bulk accounts and Independent Power Producer (IPP) sundry power purchase agreements (PPAs)
    • Manage the bulk and miscellaneous energy purchase budget
    • Effectively manage, control and support the billing activities of all electricity LU, SSEG and Wheeling customers
    • Maintain and develop the support of all stakeholders in ERM energy trading environment
    • Prepare capital and operational budgets and control expenditure against approved budget allocations
    • Lead, coordinate and direct the staff and resources and controls outcomes associated with utilisation, productivity and performance of personnel.

    Bulk Water Storage & Conveyance Specialist

    Requirements

    • A BSc or BTech degree in Civil Engineering
    • Professional registration with ECSA (Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng)
    • At least eight (8) years’ water management and related dam engineering experience
    • Experience in the construction/repair of large diameter pipelines will be advantageous
    • Valid driver’s licence
    • Will be required to travel extensively within and outside the metropolitan area to the various water schemes and conveyance systems
    • Willingness to work after hours and assume control of water supply emergencies and disasters.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Ensure integrated operation and management of the storage and conveyance system across management boundaries
    • Manage water distribution through the integrated storage and conveyance system connecting water schemes
    • Manage the construction and repair of large diameter water pipelines and associated control and measuring infrastructure
    • Ensure legislative compliance with dam safety regulations
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive storage and conveyance asset management plan
    • Develop, implement and adapt emergency management plans for bulk water supply
    • Develop and maintain instrumentation and metering systems at water treatment plants, reservoirs and pipelines
    • Manage the staff establishment of the unit comprising of technical, professional and administrative posts
    • Ensure achievement of safety, health, risk, environmental and quality objectives of the Branch
    • Direct and manage communication associated with the duties and functions.
