Job Description

• To lead the implementation of the underwriting strategy model for Market Underwriting to drive the growth of the Standard Insurance Limited Commercial business by providing market intelligence and monitoring efficiencies and adherence in day-to-day policy level underwriting for SIL to remain competitive.
• To continuously assess and identify opportunities to improve and optimise processes, both in terms of procedures and the optimal use of systems. Conduct research and provide insights to SIL.

Qualifications

• Type of Qualification: First Degree
• Field of Study:  Business Commerce, Finance, Risk Management, Actuarial Science, Law, Engineering, or a related field. (Required)
• Type of Qualification: Post Graduate Degree
• Field of Study:MBA, Masters in Finance, Risk Management, or relevant professional qualification. (Preferred)

Experience Required
Insurance

• Minimum of 12 years' progressive experience in the short term insurance industry.
• At least 7-10 years must be in senior management roles, with demonstrable experience in managing large, multi-functional portfolios (e.g., incorporating underwriting, claims, operations).
• Proven track record of developing and executing strategic plans, managing significant budgets, leading large teams, and driving operational excellence and risk management in a complex regulatory environment..
