    Head Of Finance

    About the job

    Job Specification:

     

    All below duties and responsibilities are included in the cost of your package referred to in 3 above.

     

    Oversight of financial reporting:

    • Monthly reporting to Funder (financial position, results, and covenants)

    • Quarterly reporting to Audit Committee and Board incl.

    • Variance reporting and commentary

    • Annual budgets

    • Annual consolidation

    • Annual financial statements – Company and group (IFRS for SMEs)

     

    • Management of Accountants and Head Office Administrators (team of 7)

    • Review of journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses prepared by Accountants

    • Oversight of creditors management and cash books

    • Review of monthly VAT submissions and reconciliations

    • Review of provisional and final income tax computations and deferred tax computations

    • Assistance with tax planning and oversight of tax compliance

    • Cash flow forecasting

    • Operational and strategic support to Exco as a key member of senior management

    • Oversight of outsourced VAT and tax submissions

    • Oversight of external audit

    • Oversight of company secretarial

    • Review of legal agreements (financing, acquisitions) and involvement in briefing lawyers (execution of corporate transactions)

    • Compliance in terms of contracts

    • Accounting for acquisitions and disposals

    • Identification of risks and management thereof

    • Maintenance and improvement of control environment including implementation of internal controls, policies, and procedures, and principles of good governance

    • Investigation and implementation of system changes from a finance perspective

    • Access control to finance software and information

    • Ad hoc reporting for business ventures and funding arrangements

    • Compliance with relevant legislation

    • Ad hoc projects and resolution of issues

    • Option to be nominated to the board, to represent the finance department.

     

    Reports to Director

    Non-negotiable knowledge, skills, and abilities required

    • CA (SA)

    • Minimum 5 years of commercial experience

    • Excel – Intermediate to Advanced level

     

    Job Qualifications Required

    • Experience in property

    • MDA Property Manager accounting software
