    Head of Finance

    • BIOVAC is one of the leading sterile vaccine manufacturers rooted in Africa, with our core purpose being to "protect life". We are looking to hire a dynamic, passionate, confident, proactive and meticulous Head of Finance to join a goal-oriented team.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    Required:

    • Postgraduate degree or diploma in Financial Accounting or equivalent.
    • CA(SA), CIMA or equivalent.
    • 5+ years in financial management with strategic and operational expertise.
    • Proven track record in building and managing finance teams.
    • Experience in financial operations, reporting, audit, and tax.
    • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis.
    • Experience in external audits and grant compliance.

    Preferred:

    • Proficient in SAP.
    • Fundamentals of project management.
    • Recognition of prior learning and practical experience.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Ability to travel nationally and internationally.
    • Professional registration: CA(SA) / CIMA.
    • NQF Level: 7 – 10.

    KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

    Core Technical Delivery:

    • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
    • Oversee end-to-end financial operations, including accounting, reporting, tax, and treasury.
    • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, ensuring robust succession planning.
    • Collaborate on strategic projects (ERP upgrades, tenders, expansion initiatives).
    • Review contracts and agreements for financial impact.
    • Prepare quarterly reports for executive leadership and board.
    • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, grant and funding contracts.
    • Manage financial risk and drive process improvements.
    • Deliver consolidated financial statements and ensure tax compliance.
    • Maintain a strong culture of internal control and audit readiness.
    • Lead departmental planning, capacity management, and talent retention.
    • Drive quality management and continuous improvement within the department.
