The Role

We’re looking for a commercially minded CA (SA) to fill a vacancy as the Group Head of Finance at a Medium-to-Large Enterprise. The main purpose of the role is to take over the complete finance function, operating it autonomously and reporting to the Exco and Board with key insights into making strategic decisions.

Insights

• The CFO is looking to hand over complete control and autonomy to a well versed CA(SA) to take over the entire function as the Head of Finance. This is a new role and will be reporting to the current CFO, which will step into an operational and strategic role.
• The company is a large Importer, Distribution and Wholesale enterprise. The candidate would be preferred to have previous experience in a wholesale, retail, importing, exporting, foreign exchange and logistics.
• The incoming Head of Finance will be responsible to improve and implement systems and process, automation and technologies, as well as build a strong finance team and culture.

Main Roles & Responsibilities 

• To drive and manage all monthly and annual reporting to multiple stakeholders.
• Monthly and Annual Financial Reporting
• Management Reporting
• Business Plan Process and Forecasting
• To manage 15+ employees within different roles in finance.
• Partnering and engaging with the rest of the business’s divisions.
• To work with the commercial executive and senior team to identify business strategies and growth opportunities.
• To analyse the financial performance of the BU and to make recommendations based on the findings and outcomes of the analysis.
• To implement and maintain group policies and procedures.
• To set and manage the financial planning and analysis, budgeting and forecasting process.

Requirements

• CA (SA) with 5 years post article experience
• Previous Head of Finance / Group Finance Manager experience (±3 years)
• Ability to manage and lead a large team to meet deadlines
• Ability to build strong teams with great culture
