BSc Quantity Surveying, B-Tech Quantity Surveying or relevant related Qualification
Professional registration will be advantageous
Minimum eight (8) years’ appropriate experience working with various civil, architectural, electrical and mechanical engineering contracts.
Minimum three (3) years supervisory/management experience
Ability to lead, think independently and provide strategic direction
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Valid Driver’s licence with own reliable transport and the ability to travel extensively to city sites
Key Performance Areas
Lead, coordinate and manage all Quantity Surveying and Contract Administration support where applicable to all branches/departments within Water and Sanitation
Lead, formulate and implement strategy, policy and procedures + to ensure critical performance indicators are met within Water and Sanitation in relation to Quantity Surveying and Contract
Administration activities.
Rendering strategic support, advising, formulating and implementing strategy, policy and procedures
Participating in the appointment process and briefing parties (consultants/ contractors, etc.) on the terms and scope of such appointments and, evaluating, investigating and approving submissions on progress, performance and costs for contracts
Leading and directing the compilation of Business Intelligence (Capex & Opex Budget Planning, Demand Management Planning, Costing & Estimating etc.)
Consulting with Top Management on matters pertaining to compliance with Branch deliverables / requirements
Networking and influencing other service departments and private sector role-players
Conducting research and investigations to obtain information for the design of substantial or complex
