Introduction

• The Head: VAPS is responsible for driving the growth, commercial performance and strategic development of the Group’s VAPS portfolio -other than Insurance related VAPS, currently comprising Sayf and CareGuard. The role has end-to-end accountability for the VAPS portfolio, including proposition development, product and customer experience, revenue growth, partnerships, portfolio optimisation and operational performance. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, the Head: VAPS will identify and execute opportunities to increase adoption, improve customer value, consolidate and evolve the existing portfolio, and develop new VAPS opportunities that support the Group’s broader strategic objectives.

Product & Portfolio Strategy

• Define the VAPS product and portfolio strategy, including the evolution of Sayf and CareGuard.
• Own the portfolio roadmap, priorities and investment decisions.
• Ensure propositions address identified customer, market and commercial needs.
• Oversee product development and delivery, ensuring initiatives are delivered to the required scope, quality, timeline and commercial objectives.
• Drive continuous product enhancement, innovation and optimisation.
• Translate customer, partner and market insights into product and proposition improvements.
• Identify and evaluate opportunities for new VAPS products, services, partnerships and adjacent propositions.
• Ensure appropriate product governance and performance measurement across the portfolio.

Commercial Growth & Revenue Management

• Develop and execute the VAPS go-to-market and growth strategy.
• Drive revenue, subscriber acquisition, activation, conversion and retention.
• Lead strategic distribution and B2B partnerships, while identifying opportunities to expand the VAPS ecosystem through new partners, channels and embedded propositions.
• Own pricing, packaging and commercial propositions.
• Define VAPS marketing and customer acquisition requirements and work with Group Marketing and channel teams to deliver them.
• Identify and develop new markets, customer segments and distribution opportunities.
• Build and maintain a strong commercial pipeline and ensure appropriate account management of strategic partners.

Financial Management & Portfolio Profitability

• P&L accountability for the VAPS portfolio.
• Own revenue, OPEX, margin and profitability performance.
• Develop and manage the VAPS budget, forecasts and financial plans.
• Identify and execute opportunities to rationalise costs and improve operating efficiency.
• Ensure investment in products, people, technology and partnerships delivers appropriate commercial returns.
• Deliver agreed revenue, margin, profitability and return-on-investment objectives for the VAPS portfolio.
• Provide regular financial and performance reporting to Executive Management.

Operational & Customer Performance

• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure the end-to-end customer journey from acquisition, onboarding, engagement, retention and support.
• Ensure operational processes and customer support capabilities are aligned to the VAPS proposition.
• Coordinate implementation and operational readiness for major product, partner and commercial initiatives.
• Work with Group shared services including Customer Experience, D&E, IT, Finance, Human Capital and other functions to ensure effective delivery.
• Oversee third-party technology, product and service providers where applicable.
• Monitor customer, operational and service performance and address material issues affecting the customer experience or business performance.
• Ensure the VAPS operating model evolves appropriately as the portfolio and customer base scale.

People & Leadership

• Lead, develop and motivate the VAPS team.
• Establish clear objectives, KPIs and accountability across the portfolio.
• Recruit and develop the capabilities required to execute the VAPS strategy.
• Provide direction and leadership to dedicated and support VAPS resources across product, partnerships, marketing and customer operations.
• Build a high-performance, commercially focused and customer-centric culture.
• Ensure effective collaboration across VAPS and the broader Group.
• Develop organisational capability in line with the future growth and diversification of the VAPS portfolio.

Minimum requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in: Business Management, Commerce, Technology, Engineering, Marketing or a related field.
• Advantageous: Postgraduate qualification in: Business Administration (MBA), Business Management, Product      Management, Marketing, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years' relevant professional experience in commercial, product, portfolio, or general management roles  with a proven track record of delivering business growth and performance.
• Minimum 5 years' senior management experience, including leadership accountability.
• Demonstrated experience with end-to-end accountability for a business, portfolio, or significant strategic initiative, including: Strategy development, Commercial performance, Financial outcomes, Execution and delivery
• Strong experience in: Commercial strategy, Pricing and proposition management, Revenue growth, Budgeting and forecasting, Margin management, Cost optimisation, and Profit and Loss (P&L) management
• Experience leading and influencing cross-functional teams across: Product, Technology, Marketing, Operations, and Shared Services functions
• Experience in strategic partnerships, new-market development, business transformation or technology-enabled subscription and services businesses would be advantageous
• Experience in technology-enabled, subscription, consumer or services businesses would be advantageous
