Grade 10. Grade 12 will be an added advantage. Valid code 10 or 14 driver’s license with PDP. Heavyduty machine Operating Certificate Excavator /Landfill Compactor and Bulldozer certificate (NQF 2). Communication and interpersonal skills.
Three (03) years relevant experience operating an excavator experience within Local Government Authority will be an added advantage.
DUTIES
Operations: Responsible for operating heavy duty machine such as bulldozer, landfill compactor or any other on landfill sites, transfer stations. Spread out and compact waste as per the norms and standard and relevant Waste Management Licences Cell construction and closure.
Responsible for maintenance of access roads within the site to ensure efficient movement of vehicles Responsible to execute daily works order received from the Site Supervisor and/ or Foreman. Fleet maintenance and Monitoring: Inspecting equipment for defects and maintaining records of repairs performed.
Responsible for all equipment which are used in association with the position. Monitoring machinery functions such as oil levels and coolant levels to ensure safe operation. Compliance with relevant legislations: Ensure compliance to predetermined compacting methods.
Coordinating with other workers to ensure that operations onsite meet safety standards. Responsible for all safety requirements and ensuring those safety regulations are followed when using equipment. Perform any other related ad hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by Supervisor and Foreman from time to time.
