    Human Resources Generalist

    Job Description

    CAPRISA is an award-winning global research organisation located on the campus of the Nelson Mandela School of Medicine in Durban, South Africa and undertakes research in HIV, TB and Covid at four clinical research sites in KwaZulu-Natal. 

    CAPRISA is seeking an experienced individual to fill the position of HR Generalist  based at the CAPRISA Head Office in Durban.

    The successful incumbent will assist with the full spectrum of HR functions, must be able to think critically, strategically and contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the Human Resources department.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Relevant Degree or NQF Level 7 qualification in Human Resources preferable)
    • At least 4 years HR Generalist experience, participating in transformational projects
    • Solid experience with development and implementation of HR procedures, policies and practices
    • Experience with HR Information system, preferably SAGE People  
    • Experience with online recruitment software/system
    • High level of computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
    • Knowledge of PowerBI or other database administration system/s

    • Attention to detail, with strong analytical ability
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently, without direct supervision and fit in well within a multi-disciplinary team
    • Ability to organize and manage multiple/conflicting daily priorities

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Talent Acquisition and Onboarding
    • Talent management and development  
    • Reports and Management Information
    • Project mapping and delivery
    • Generate statistical reports
    • Perform administrative duties relating to performance management
    • Provide support with all statutory obligations that relate to Human Resources, eg Employment Equity, Skills Development
    • Assist in proving support on employee wellness initiatives
    • General HR and payroll administration
