    Human Resources Officer

    Job Summary 

    Jones & Wagener is seeking to employ a Human Resources Officer to join the HR Unit, based in our Rivonia office. The HR officer would assist the HR Practitioners with their day-to-day activities.

     The requirements associated with the position are as follows:

    • Human Resources or related qualification
    • Candidate should be proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS PowerPoint
    • Proficiency in SAGE – HR and Payroll system
    • Proven experience in recruitment and HR administration role
    • 2 to 4 years relevant experience
    • Basic knowledge of BCEA
    • Familiarity with recruitment tools and technologies would be an advantage
    • Driver’s licence

    Preference to candidates with the following skills and attributes:

    • Proven relevant experience
    • Strong technical skills
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Proactive
    • Dynamic, self-motivated takes responsibility and ownership of tasks
    • Must be a team player
    • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively.
    • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
    • Professional demeanour and ability to maintain confidentiality.

    The main duties associated with the position include the following:

    • General HR administrative tasks, such as typing of documents and contracts and record-keeping
    • Maintaining employee records and filing electronically
    • Recruitment administration such as posting of adverts, shortlisting, responding to applicants, liaise with agencies
    • Verifying criminal and qualification checks
    • Updating internal databases with new hire information
    • Liaising with other departments and Heads of Departments (HOD)
    • Assisting with induction and onboarding
    • Assist with reports, e.g. leave balances and leave recons monthly
    • Set-up of interviews both internally and externally
    • Assist with minute taking on employee relations matters and meetings
    • Drawing up offer letters
    • Managing the leave administration
    • Assistance with the event’s planning
