Information Technology Support Technician at AutoTraderSA

Purpose

To act as first line of technical support to all company computer users. To ensure that all computer products and systems run at optimum performance levels and to assist the IT Systems Manager in day to day maintenance of the network infrastructure.

A typical day as an IT Frontline Support Technician at www.autotrader.co.za would be to: 

• Focusing on the diagnostic selling process across your customer base by implementing all phases of the sales process at executive level to ensure
• To ensure company hardware and software equipment functions effectively.
• To review new and ongoing support tickets daily upon arrival and regularly throughout the day
• To test basic network connectivity and internet access at the start of each day
• To check basic operation of all printers at the start of each day
• To ensure prompt response to support queries via direct action or immediate escallation
• To ensure the IT Store room, Server room and your desk are kept neat and tidy and in keeping with company clean desk policies at all times
• To confirm assigned tickets at the start of each day with the IT Systems Manager
• To escalate network, internet or telephone performance issues to the IT Systems Manager immediately
• To ensure adequate maintenance support for hardware.
• To keep abreast of new technological developments and recommend appropriate application.
• To assist with the compilation of the IT daily report
• To ensure all conference equipment is checked and maintained
• To ensure Apple TVs are functioning in all boardrooms
• To assist the Health and Safety team by supporting the DVR Camera system
• To work closely with the Technical Operations Co-ordinator and IT Generalists to ensure the Asset Management system is kept up to date at all times
• To work with HR and Assets team on issuing and returning of all assets

Who we’re looking for:

• Good knowledge of desktop support for both PC and MAC from a hardware and software perspective
• Good knowledge of support for mobile platforms from hardware and software perspective
• Limited knowledge on LANs & WANs, including: Wireless networking technologies /Routing & Remote Access
• Limited knowledge of Scopserve and VoIP telephony administration
• Good Knowledge of the following desktop and mobile operating systems ( Windows 7 and later /Windows XP /OS X / iOS)
• Qualification: MCSE/MCITP/MCSA
• Ability to cope with high stress levels
• Work occasional late hours on deadlines or as needed – own transport required
• Offer remote support to end users remotely after hours as required
