    Instructional Designer

    About the job

    A private and business sector partnership is looking for a seasoned freelance instructional designer. The successful designer will be motivated by contributing to meaningful work, have the capacity to work through the festive season and be deadline driven. 

     

    The material is accredited and the completed project will be delivered to CapaCiTi, where it will be used to educate and empower learners in the Computer Technicians Bootcamp. Participants in the Bootcamp will be equipped with the abilities to successfully start a career in technology.

     

    This project has a fast turnaround time, and the successful candidate will be able to start almost immediately. 

     

    If you tick all of the boxes below, you are who we are looking for:

    • familiar with basic pedagogy and instructional design principles, such as Merrills, Bloom’s Taxonomy, Webb’s Depth of Knowledge, active learning theory, social constructivism and how to apply these principles.

    • wiz at direct editing on a LMS platform, and ideally familiar with Open edX  

    • creative thinker who can leverage design tools to create engaging course content

    • independent and organised, designing most of the content with the input of the subject matter expert. 

    • enjoy working collaborating with the learning design team who drafted the blueprint

    • be deadline driven and excited about the prospect of project milestones and deliverables connected to the project budget and bonus.

    • flexible working hours, as the team running the project are all volunteers servicing various global time zones.

     

    Requirements to apply:

    • Minimum of a bachelor's degree 

    • 2+ years of teaching/training experience

    • 5+ years of work experience

    • Evidence of experience relevant to digital learning design

     

    The project will take 6-8 weeks to complete. Remuneration for the project delivery is R65 000, with a R10 000 performance bonus.
