Instrumentation Engineer at Mondi Group

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Head of the Chemical & Effluent Plant, the successful incumbent will need to Implement optimal asset management strategy to achieve safe and reliable plant operations.

Qualifications & Expertise:

• Light current / N6 Diploma in Instrumentation and Process Control
• Preference: B Tech/ S4 Instrumentation

Job Experience:

• 5 years’ experience in Instrumentation (DCS or better will be an added advantage)
• Experience in a supervisory position
• Experience within the Pulp & Paper industry will be beneficial
• Recognition for prior learning will be considered/given

Key Performance Areas:

• Lead maintenance team
• Responsible for legal compliance
• Execution and compliance of planned maintenance in the section
• Deployment of and compliance with Mondi Technical Standards
• Maintain updated equipment long term plan and risk register
• Optimise maintenance strategies on equipment/process level
• Continuous improvement of electrical systems
• Root cause failure analysis and closeout
• Compile and manage annual budget
• Set goals and achieve Maintenance KPIs
• Manage SAP maintenance system and compliance to business processes
• Short term planning as well as planning for the annual shut;
• Responsible for safety, health and environmental issues, including incident investigations
• Personnel development and assessment
• Accurate reporting

• Must have track record of shutdown and project management.
• Understanding of maintenance principles and strategies is essential
• Broad electrical experience in the following areas: Process control, Analysers, DCS working knowledge, PLC, actuators, transmitters, radio nuclides, profibus and automation systems
• Computer literacy including SAP, Excel, MS Projects (basic) and others
• Conversant with OHSAct and Environmental emission compliance
• Required to do Millwide standby duties
