Instrumentation Technician SF at Anglo American

Job Description:

As an Instrumentation Technician, you will be responsible to ensure that all systems are maintained and optimized to ensure that the capacity to the production process is maximised.

Some of the key responsibilities in this role will include:

• Circulate instrumentation best practices
• Audit high risk and safety areas
•  Analyse and identify problems on the current control solution
• System trouble shooting and hardware problem resolution
• Support existing instrumentation networks and hardware
• Calibration and maintenance of all equipment
• Assist with commissioning onsite projects

This role is in the Engineering department at a C5 level reporting to the Control and Instrumentation Engineer

Qualifications:

• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or National N6 Diploma and a Trade Test (Instrumentation)
• Registered as a Professional Engineering Technician with ECSA – advantageous
• Advanced computer literacy
• Valid Driver’s License- Code 08

Experience:

• 3 years relevant work experience
• Knowledge and experience of Siemens PLC Programming, Wincc SCADA System and Plant networks (advantageous)
• Running capital projects (advantageous)
• If successful, you will be required to undergo a Medical Fitness Test
