Internship Programme 2026/2027: Engineering and Built Environment at eThekwini Municipality

Duration

Successful candidates will be appointed for:

• Up to 24 months – University graduates
• Up to 18 months – TVET graduates who have completed the required N6 qualification and practical training requirements

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be unemployed South African citizens
• Have a recognized qualification relevant to the advertised opportunity
• Have no prior work experience in the relevant field
• Require workplace exposure or experiential learning
• Be available for the full internship period
• Be willing to comply with programme requirements
• Be able to participate in assessments, training, and workplace activities

Important Information for Applicants

• Monthly stipends will range from R2 927.79 to R8 902.15. depending on qualification level.
• Applicants who have previously participated in or benefited from an internship/work experience programme for 12 months or longer will not be considered.
• Only applicants who meet the requirements will be considered.
