About the Discovery Internship Programme
An internship is a programme which provides on the job training for unemployed graduates who need to gain work experience. The Discovery Internship Programme was launched in 2006 and we have successfully developed and changed the lives of over 500 graduates, with an average permanent placement of 71% post an internship. Key Purpose of the role:
The primary purpose of this role is to provide day to day HR Administration function to the VitalityLife Business Unit, as well as assisting with gathering and compiling relevant data sets for the HR team to understand important trends from various projects.
Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to:
The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to the following job functions:
Update and maintain relevant spreadsheets. This includes the HR tracking, registers, ad-hoc project trackers.
Set up orientation interviews and exit interviews with new joiners and leavers respectively. As well as type exits and scan orientations and save on relevant drive
Upload recruitment documentation to SharePoint for auditing purposes
Coordinate all recruitment related administration (reference checks, forensics, scanning and submission of documents) for successful placements in line with recruitment objectives.
Set up interviews, liaise with candidates in terms of timing, meet with candidates are reception and take him / her to the venue.
Conducts reference checks and telephonic interviews.
Assisting with ad hoc projects as and when required
Responsible for leave capping data and communication
Analysis and calculation of HR survey data from the business
Liaising with relevant staff to source relevant information
Driving of various ad hoc projects
Logging of relevant calls on the CA system
Exit and Orientation Interview trending and presentation
Analysis of performance data and drive completion

Qualification Requirement:
Matric / Grade 12 is essential.
Relevant analytics qualification
Diploma in HR or relevant HR courses (Advantageous)
Technical Skills and Knowledge
Advanced proficiency in MS suite (MS Excel and PowerPoint Essential)
Experience in doing v-look up, formulas on excel, PowerPoint presentations
Understanding of Long term insurance (Advantageous)
Specific Requirements:
No previous internship and or graduate programme in any industry or government institution
No work experience (Essential)
Between the ages of 18 – 30 (Essential)
You must be a South African Citizen by Birth
