The Role
Macmillan Education South Africa is seeking to appoint an experienced professional to the position of the IT Technician to support and maintain the IT infrastructure across the Macmillan Southern Africa region (hardware, software, servers and networking).

The Requirements

•    Matric.
•    Diploma/Degree in IT and or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.
•    5 years’ experience in the IT environment.
•    Ability to multi-task. 
•    Must be able to work under pressure.
•    Possess strong communication skills.
•    Must display strong technical and problem solving skills, well-organised and process discipline. 
•    Must have a passport and be willing to travel.

The Responsibilities

• To provide first line support to all users
• Manage Helpdesk tickets by providing updates on the progress of tickets to the users for each ticket and assist with Global tickets when requested.
• Manage assets by updating the access database with warranties and the scanning database.
• Sign backup register on a daily basis.
• Server maintenance by checking the server health and sign register.
• Communicate with the users, external consultants, service providers and suppliers.
• Must maintain professionalism at all times.
