    Junior Category Shopper Manager

    What You Will Do 

    • This professional will work within Customer Development department responsible for using their understanding and expertise of how shoppers shop the category in different channels to identify and implement channel and customer-specific point of purchase strategies and plans.

    Key Responsibilities

    •   Develops an understanding of how shoppers shop the category and uses this to identify strategic opportunities for the business.
    •   Develops and implements effective ranging, merchandising, pricing, availability, promotional & POS plans by Channel and/or customers.
    •   Supports the innovation process by providing insights into customer needs, shopper behavior and POP drivers.
    •   Designs, develops and implements Brand specific POP/trade activities along the path to purchase.
    •   Develops; implements and evaluates all shopper marketing or Customer- specific initiatives through close collaboration with key Customer and J&J partners.
    •   Leads cross-functional alignment and ensures all stakeholders are briefed at the appropriate time and forum.
    •   Develops internal and external Category Reviews that highlight opportunities and make recommendations from a Category, Brand and Customer point of view.
    •   Develops the trade rationale for Innovation/Category activities for inclusion in trade presenters and presentations to the trade (where applicable supports the Customer Managers in developing customer specific rationale).
    •   Analyses Category data and takes corrective action where applicable.
    •   Handles budgets and ROI of activities.

    Develop & maintain effective relationships with key Customers through regular customer reviews, managing the Catman process and project feedback sessions

    What We Are Looking For

    Required Qualifications

    •   The position requires a B. Comm/ B. Bus Science degree or equivalent degree related to the role.
    •   3-4 years of proven experience in customer/category management or marketing, which 1-2 years to be in an FMCG environment as advantage.
    •   Experience in a customer-facing role will be an advantage.
    •   Expertise in Nielsen Category Analytics, Dunnhumby Insights & PicknPay Information Hub are required.
    •   Problem solver.
    •   Strong analytical skills.
    •   Project management skills.
    •   Presentation skills.
    •   Commercial and financial competence.
    •   Good with processes and systems (MS Office – advanced Excel and PowerPoint)
    •   Good communication and influencing skills.
    •   Strong planning and organising ability.
    •   Ability to optimally network across the business and gain customer support.
    •   Self-starter and ability to work in a team.
