PwC is recruiting for a Junior/Intermediate Systems Analyst with 2 - 3 years experience to join the Data and Analytics Technology - Enterprise Data Management team

Services to be provided:

• The focus of this role is to support the Data Engineering team within the Office of the CDO as pertains to defining data requirements, data environment and data model documentation, testing of deliverables and supporting the agile delivery process.
• Meet and coordinate with internal product teams and service line stakeholders to understand project scope, system goals, and resultant data requirements.
• Analyze and develop requirement specifications, data mapping, contextual and technical diagrams, and flowcharts in collaboration with the data engineers and business analysts.
• Document the set-up and configuration of systems and data services to help establish clear playbooks for implementations and support.
• Define and execute testing procedures, and develop test cases to ensure the quality of deliverables.
• Assist with the development of operational and system process documentation.
• Assist with the documentation and delivery of data environment health check reports to product stakeholders.
• Engagement in Design Thinking sessions, requirements grooming and sprint planning.

Scope of services included

• Delivery of assigned tasks as captured and assigned in the Data Engineering team’s product backlog or approved and assigned through a supported Africa Technology product line backlog or approved and assigned through the helpdesk solution by the Team Lead.

Scope of services excluded

• Any tasks not specified in the Data Management team’s product backlog or supported Africa Technology product line backlog or helpdesk, unless agreed with the Team Lead.

Approach

• The position will report to the Data Engineering team lead, collaborating with the Data Engineering technical lead and Data Engineers, as well as Product Management teams and internal service line stakeholders.
• Projects and work tasks will be assigned through the Africa Technology scrum delivery process as prioritised and approved by the Team Lead.
• Adherence to PwC technical best practices and standards.
• All work tasks to be recorded, managed and delivered within the PwC standard work management platform (Azure DevOps).
• Adherence to PwC software development and release processes including, but not limited to, change and release controls, security, risk and governance.
• Maintenance of professional relationships and communication with key stakeholders.

Skills required

Essential skills:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology, or equivalent experience
• 2-3 years experience working with information technologies and systems analysis (ideally with a data focus)
• Strong computer, hardware, software, and analytical skills
• Proven ability to assess business needs and translate them into relevant technical solutions
• Understanding and knowledge of the principles and practices associated with data engineering and database maintenance and administration
• Experience documenting, testing, training, and implementing new systems or components
