Junior SAP FICO Support Specialist at Globe 24-7

The Role

The Junior SAP FICO specialist for our centralized SAP system support centre based out of Johannesburg.  Our central SAP S/4 HANA system serve financial, material management and plant maintenance requirements of our Copper assets across the globe.  The team is responsible for ensuring the daily operational availability of SAP, optimized use of the system, identifying new opportunities to enhance the system and implementing projects to service our global business. Our SAP system includes SAP S/4 HANA 2021 and SAP Fiori. Within our global support centre team, you will be responsible to assist in the optimization of our finance and accounting processes as well as the implementation of new functionality for our global environment.

The Responsibilities

• Provide second and third level support processes in S/4 HANA
• Determine business requirements (e.g., functional and technical, information needs, business processes) through information-gathering sessions
• Analyse information gathered, document business requirements and map to SAP business processes
• Configure FICO solutions- Financial Accounting, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Cost and Profit centre accounting
• Functionality testing: knowledge of, and ability to use, testing methodologies, processes and tools, including unit, integration, system, regression and dry run testing
• Coordinate execution of project tasks in your functional area
• Provide support for business applications or infrastructure to maintain productivity level
• Involve in on-going SAP global rollout

The Requirements

• A relevant Bachelor’s Degree (BTech or B.Sc., Informatics)
• Relevant SAP certification
• Minimum 2 years of FI and CO experience plus at least 1 full cycle implementation.
• Experience in a support environment and global SAP template rollout
• Excellent understanding of accounting, controlling and finance processes.
• Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
• Work very closely with business decision makers and end users
• Highly numerate, with good problem-solving and analytical skills
• Demonstrated, well-developed judgment and problem-solving skills
• Need to be adaptable, flexible and entrepreneurial
• Fluency in English (speaking, writing) as it is an English-speaking environment. Other languages are an advantage, such as French, Spanish.
