    Key Account Manager

    Job Advert Summary    
    PURPOSE:  

    • To maintain the balance between Supply and Demand for the market.  
    • To develop a strong relationship with customers.  
    • To manage the supply to the customer effectively and efficiently.

    Minimum Requirements    
    QUALIFICATIONS:
     B Degree (Relevant) (Essential/Minimum)
     Management Development Programme (Recommended/Desirable)

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Name Proficiency Importance Involvement
    • Commodity marketing, procurement relevant within a heavy industry; mining or production environment with recommended experience in International commodity trading within a commercial or business environment 6-8 years Essential/Minimum Operational

    REQUIREMENTS:

    •  Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
    •  Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    The incumbent will inter alia be responsible for the following:

    Business and Product Advisory Services

    •  Provide supply, demand, price trend information; monitor global economic conditions and the impact on commodity markets as inputs to market overview reports
    •  Provide marketing input to the Marketing Manager for designated accounts
    •  Develop technical knowledge of product characteristics, use and performance in relation to existing and new technologies
    •  Implement product strategies based on coal properties and customer requirements
    •  Accesses available market intelligence to improve service delivery to customer
    •  Manage product quality deviations and develop solutions together with Customer
    •  Assist with new business acquisition and business development

    Customer, Stakeholder and Client Relationship Management

    •  Manage customer relationships actively and effectively
    •  Ensure retention and develop value propositions for customers
    •  Prepare and discuss sales agreements with customers
    •  Liaise with customers to ensure timeous and accurate processing of tenders, quotations, orders and credit applications
    •  Interface with assigned customers

    Financial Performance

    •  Provide input into the annual sales plan (Operational and Sales volume/Income)
    •  Compile the sales variance report to measure actual sales
    •  Forecast sales volumes and prices for business plans, monthly forecasts and budget

    Marketing

    •  Ensure that Sales and Marketing plan requirements are met
    •  Provide volume inputs and related data to enable accurate business forecasting and planning

    Process Support

    •  Manage Coal Sales Agreements
    •  Provide input with regard to market development to match supply with market strategy for designated segments
    •  Optimization of customer portfolio to match product availability
    •  Focus on the European market segment

    •  Maintain and ensure a healthy environment, safe operations practices, ensuring compliance with all applicable Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) policies and procedures in line with set standards
    •  Encourage a culture that focuses on safety in all operations
