Duties & Responsibilities
POSITION TASKS:
The incumbent will inter alia be responsible for the following:
Equipment Operations and Control
- Inspect, repair and maintain assets, equipment and surrounding infrastructure
- Assist Master Fitter with conducting condition monitoring, testing, fault finding and problem solving
- Adhere to planned maintenance schedules
- Assume responsibility for maintenance and new installations and maintain records
- Maintain conveying systems and cutting systems
- Support maintenance jobs of support personnel
- Perform maintenance during breakdowns and shutdowns
Inspection and Control
- Inspect all tools, equipment and instruments prior to use
- Inspect all vehicles, machines and mechanical equipment to identify defects
- Report defects immediately
- Carry out inspection according to a specific schedule to repair identified defects
Material/Resource Planning and Control
- Adhere to planned maintenance schedules
- Use available resources, both people and equipment optimally
- Assume responsibility for quality of maintenance and new installations in functional area

- Transfer knowledge and give guidance to Artisan Aides and trainees to improve their skills
