    Labour Relations Officer: Collective Bargaining

    • Salary scale: R541 008.48 (Post level 5)

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Grade 12
    • 3 years Degree or Diploma in Labour Relations 
    • Computer literacy – MS Office programmes 
    • Code B Driver’s License 
    • Planning and Organising Skills 
    • Investigative and report-writing skills 
    • Well-developed conflict resolutions, negotiation and problem solving skills 
    • Considerable knowledge of the procedures, practices and techniques used in collective bargaining and labour management negotiations

    KEY PERFORMANCES AREAS: 

    • Render and advisory service to management, employees and union representatives with regard to labour relations matters, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, Bargaining Council agreements and Council policy 
    • Manage and co-ordinate disciplinary and labour relations matters including grievances and appeals and implement corrective measures where necessary 
    • Develop and implement actions for the promotion of sound labour relations between employer and employees 
    • Research and document the relevant labour relations legislative frameworks that might be of critical importance to management and municipality Investigate, analyse and evaluate problem areas in the workplace, assist to resolve and make recommendations
