JOB DESCRIPTION: LEAD ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

• We’re looking for a hard-working individual for the Lead Electrical Engineer position to join us at Solar MD; located in Montague Gardens. As a new and exciting venture, we want a dynamic individual who is motivated, enthusiastic and reliable. As a lead electrical engineer, you will be tasked with maintaining, managing, and supervising all team members, inclusive of the service and repair teams. By taking a hands-on approach to the job, you can ensure that verification and electrical engineering design methodologies support product and safety requirements and that development processes fall within established timelines.

Lead Electrical Engineer Requirements:

Lead Electrical Engineer Responsibilities:

•  Provides electrical engineering recommendations and technical support on electrical engineering reviews, strategic plans, and project
• Assists with allocation, budgeting, resource planning, and scheduling 
• Manages service and repair units and the development of cost estimations and
• Helps determine affordable and reliable material source 
• Ensures on-time product development by collaborating with other leaders to estimate reasonable and precise schedules and solve problems quickly
• Streamlines production while meeting compliance and safety guidelines 
• Creates production, quality validation, and evaluation requirements and tests and troubleshoots production dilemmas 
• Establishes technical standards in reviews, documentations, and designs 
• Manages services, repairs, and engineering teams and other electrical engineering staff members

• Lifting and carrying – because you will work in a warehouse setting the ability to lift and carry heavy objects and remain standing for extended periods of time are both important

• Analytical Skills- strong technical and mathematical abilities
• Problem Solving- you are natural problem-solver with a mind for design and troubleshooting

• tasks alone and as a member of a team
• Possess experience with industry-standard testing
• Demonstrate an ability to create and interpret electrical schematics
• In-depth knowledge SANS 10142-01 and OHS standards
