Job Requirements

Academic route:

• A Master of Laws (LLM) degree.
• At least two years of teaching experience at a tertiary institution.

Professional route:

• A Master of Laws (LLM) degree.
• A minimum of five years of post-admission legal practice.
• Must be an admitted attorney or admitted advocate.

Duties:

• Teach modules in Mercantile and Private Law, which may include:
  • Law of Persons
  • Family Law
  • Labour Law
  • Insurance Law
  • Contract Law
  • Law of Damages
  • Conflict of Laws
  • Consumer Law
  • Banking Law and Practice
  • Information and Communications Technology Law
• Conduct independent research and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Publish scholarly work in accredited journals and textbooks.
• Serve on academic and administrative committees as required.
• Perform other administrative duties within the University.
