Lecturer: Digital Design Technology (Independent Contractor) at Vega School

The IIE’s Vega School Pretoria campus is seeking a part time Lecturer (Independent Contractor) for the first semester of the 2023 academic year.

Job Purpose:

Lecturer and academic delivery to ensure students are guided and supported in their learning to achieve module outcomes.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

• ​Full Technical Waiver Applies.
• Professional Portfolio to illustrate expertise in Adobe Software, especially Illustrator and Photoshop​
• Qualification in any visual design field with Adobe Creative Cloud software skills.

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

• ​​​​Experience and portfolio in Adobe Creative Cloud Software such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Experience in using a drawing tablet for digital illustration will be considered a bonus.
• Minimum 2 years work experience in Digital Media is required.
• Experience in BlackBoard and teaching an advantage​​​

Key Performance Areas:

• Preparation and lecturing as per the Module Guide
• Teaching curriculum outcomes as per contract hours and stipulated per pre agreed timetable
• Briefing students for assignments and providing feedback in a timeous manner
• Presenting class marks and feedback to the Module Discipline Leader and discuss appropriate interventions for improved student success
• Actively engaging with current trends in teaching and learning strategies within The IIE’ Vega School environment.

Working Conditions:

• Please note that this is an Independent Contractor position
• Positions are part-time, with lectures taking place between 08:00 and 17:30
