    Lecturer (Faculty of Engineering & The Built Environment)

    Minimum requirements:

    An NQF level 9 Architectural degree (e.g. M. Arch). A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline may be considered provided that a foundational NQF level 7 architectural qualification has also been achieved.

    • Lecturing / professional experience at PrArch level or a combination thereof that adds up to at least 3 years.
    • Experience in managing the implementation of architectural-related software and hardware
    • Expertise in BIM software application, specifically related to workflow.

    ADDITIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS

    • SACAP accredited primary qualifications.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Acumen towards operating with defined systems and requirements.
    • A strong passion for teaching and research.
    • Demonstration of willingness to complete a doctorate qualification.
    • Experience in curriculum development
    • Team player with an interest in moving the department towards excellence.
    • Practice-based experience with in-depth construction technology knowledge
    • Implementing and running community engagement projects as part of employment at an educational institution.
    • An existing interest in 4IR, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and related aspects of Computational Architecture

    SUMMARY OF DUTIES

    • Curriculum development.
    • Development of teaching and learning material.
    • Lecturing, assessment and supervision.
    • Engaging in research and publications focused on the field of 4IR, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and related aspects of Computational Architecture
    • Facilitating departmental community engagement projects.
    • Assistance with administrative and other duties as prescribed by the Head of Department or representative as delegated.
    • Participating in broader institutional fora
    • Development and implementation of Department 4IR technologies in its programmes and research activities.
