Lecturer in Fitness and Sports at Trifocus Fitness Academy

We are looking for a lecturer to drive the strategic approach for online and facilitated programme delivery to ensure the quality and relevance of the learning experience of students enrolled for higher education qualifications offered by the institution.

Requirements for the position

Qualification and experience

• Master’s degree on NQF Level 9 in Biokinetics or Sports in Sports Science
• Honours Degree on NQF Level 8 in Biokinetics or Sports in Sports Science
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience of teaching and learning in higher education, preferably with 2 years in an academic leadership position.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in lecturing and assessing.

Professional skills

• High-level understanding of higher education
• High-level understanding of Learning Management Systems an advantage
• General professional skills, including project management, problem-solving, team leadership, people management and communication
• High-level proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to communicate well with students

Responsibilities of the position

•  Provide strategic leadership in teaching and assessment in collaboration with the management of the institution.
• Take decisions based on feedback and reports from internal and external academic staff, students, and support staff to ensure effective teaching, learning and assessment, and where necessary, in consultation with managers, structures and academic staff.
•   Take actions necessary to promote the reputation of the institution in all matters relating to teaching and learning.
• Assess and moderate students assignments.
