Effectively plan and coordinates shift with Team Leaders, with regards to resources, equipment, and quality to achieve production targets and specified packing instructions. Manages operational efficiencies to limit delays and report downtime timeously to department managers.
Constantly optimise pack table/drop allocations based on packing instructions to maximise operational efficiencies.
Ensure orders or requests are packed according to market and client specifications and ensure no overpacking.
Monitor correct fruit quality, packed product, labelling, fruit weights and palletizing.
Responsible for maintaining high level of quality, safety and hygiene standards throughout responsible area.
Oversee that team is adhering to policies and procedures and that health and safety rules are followed.
Ensure good communication on all levels (upward and downwards) to ensure effective and efficient operations.
Oversee and validate records for cleaning, sizing, carton weights and scale calibrations.
Manage staff within department that includes maintaining discipline, resource efficient utilisation, employment of staff, motivate and reward.
Provide training on production good practices, health and safety, policies and procedures.
Take on additional responsibilities when operating on double shifts.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 with relevant Qualification
2-3 years’ relevant experience
Supervisory Skill or experience will be beneficial.
Previous relevant experience in Food Safety/Agriculture will be an advantage.
