Job Description

• Sunshine Seedling Services, part of the TWK Group, has the following vacancy available: Maintenance Manager at Pietermaritzburg.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Oversee the administration of the maintenance including processing, purchasing, day to day running and admin related to daily running. 
• Build a working relationship with suppliers
• Ensuring productivity is maintained and deadlines are met
• Oversee the building and maintenance 
• Ensuring the maintenance continues including mowing, nursery tables, plastics, roads, electrical, irrigation, equipment, houses and vehicles
• Overseeing any new projects and developments
• Ensuring that stock is ordered on time, reducing waste
• Ensure spares are available for emergencies
• Communicate with the maintenance manager regarding maintenance issues
• Keeping storerooms neat
• Be involved in Urbinati installations
• Develop an understanding of all nursery systems
• Assist with the management of the nursery where necessary
• Perform weekend duties and call outs if necessary
• Assist in the running of the flower section by seeing customers on a regular basis
• Monthly and weekly feedback to line manager
• Vehicle and maintenance checks weekly 
• Polite to customers or suppliers, via the phone or via e-mail
• Improving on current system and reworking where necessary
• Weekly meetings and feedback on progress with work 

Qualifications and Skills

• Matric / Grade 12
• At least 3 years’ management experience in Building, maintenance or mechanical fields
• Willing to travel to nursery sites
• Efficient and organized 
• Ability to pay attention to detail 
• Establish positive working relationships with clients and co-employees 
• Ability to communicate in English and isZulu
• Strong organizational and administrative skills
