    Maintenance Practitioner Planner (Rustenburg)

    Job Responsibilities:

    SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY:

    • Comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)
    • Utilise the Information Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status
    • Adhere to all related SOP’s, PTO’s and CTO’s as per Training Matrix per position, SHEQ and company standards
    • Planning and scheduling of safety-related work identified in safety meetings (to be performed by the maintenance crew).

    PEOPLE:

    Supervise the teams:

    • Ensure Customer Satisfaction
    • Regularly check success of the PM schedule in the field
    • Incorporate suggestions from artisans, supervisors, and production personnel to continuously improve the schedule in terms of safety, duration and cost
    • Coach Users on PM Functions

    CUSTOMERS:

    • Regularly check success of the PM schedule in the field
    • Incorporate suggestions from artisans, supervisors and production personnel to continuously improve the schedule in terms of safety, duration and cost
    • Coach Users on PM Functions
    • Coach SAP end-users on the Plant Maintenance module and other team members in all aspects of Computerised Maintenance Management System functions

    BUSINESS PROCESSES:

    Maintenance Support:

    • Link new materials to Bills of Materials and update Bills of Materials on SAP
    • Load New Task Lists and update existing Task Lists on GSAP
    • Request new service and material master numbers
    • Capture, update, and maintain maintenance plans on GSAP
    • Update plant-specific master data, e.g., BOM’s, and audit for accuracy, format and content
    • Planning and scheduling of safety-related work identified in safety meetings (to be performed by the maintenance crew).

    Schedule Preparation:

    • Decide whether to use internal or contractor artisans
    • Create Work Orders and allocate the Task Lists
    • Create Purchase Requisitions for non-stock items and allocate Components
    • Release Purchase Requisitions
    • Release Planned Work Orders
    • Check material and follow up on material availability (arrange expediting if necessary)
    • Report discrepancies for scheduled materials on a weekly basis
    • Release Planned Work and monitor the Forward Workload
    • Estimate work order costs
    • Allocate Resources, arrange weekly planning meetings and create the Schedule
    • Estimate cost of scheduled work for the week
    • Communicate and issue the schedule
    • Print Work Orders as required
    • Verify and reconcile and ad-hoc material movements as requested by management

    Work Analysis:

    • Investigate W/O exceptions
    • Produce various routine and special reports as required
    • Compile bar chart for all major/long shutdowns and conduct progress meetings of the same
    • Analyze maintenance work order feedback for SAP correctness

    Contractor Management:

    • Generate PR/PO through COUPA and SAP as required or instructed
    • Optimise resource levelling using internal or contractor artisans for planned work
    • Verify contractor attendance the week before the job is scheduled to start

    Chair weekly Planning meeting:

    • Chair the weekly planning meeting with the Production Team to establish agreed downtimes and work priorities for the forthcoming weeks

    Ad hoc:

    • Perform ad hoc work as and when requested  

    SHAREHOLDER VALUE

    • Prepare cost forecast for each schedule
    • Forecast material required for each schedule
    • Compare actual cost of schedule to planned cost.

    Requirements

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

    • Grade 12 / N3
    • National Diploma in Planning / Related
    • Trade Certificate (Advantageous)
    • 5years relevant experience, 2 years’ supervisory experience.

    Knowledge & Skills:

    • Microsoft Office programs
    • Samancor Chrome Systems (IMS, EBMS, Chromedoc, SAP, Coupa, MES)
    • Required training as per training matrix
    • Soft Skills as identified per department / level
    • Demonstrate an understanding of SAP Plant maintenance systems

    Additional qualifications:

    • N4 Studying towards N5 (Internal)
    • 1 Year SAP PM Experience as well as SAP PM proficiency
