What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

• In this role, you’ll be an integral part of the finance team, working closely with the Finance Manager to ensure smooth financial operations.
• You’ll assist with the monthly and annual closing of accounts, ensuring that journals, provisions, and accruals are accurately posted.
• You’ll also dive into project accounting, short-term cash forecasts, and tax submissions (Income Tax, VAT, Provisional Tax).
• Your role will be key in financial analysis, supporting profitability and growth, and contributing to the company’s annual budget planning process.
• Additionally, you’ll assist with the financial audit and handle B-BBEE reporting.
• This is a varied role, offering plenty of challenges and opportunities to develop.

What you’ll need

• To succeed in this role, you’ll need a relevant financial qualification, such as BComm or BAcc.
• Previous experience in management accounting is essential, along with a strong understanding of cost accounting and financial principles.
• Experience in a project-based organisation would be beneficial.
• You should be process-oriented, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, will be critical in this role.
