Manager - Business Improvement at Rio Tinto

About The Role

We are looking for a Manager -Business Improvement to partner with the business as a finance expert which will advice, and develop supporting processes that continuously unlock value.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be

• Lead by example in health and safety, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of yourself and your team members
• Accountable for team management such as development plans, talent management, day to day coaching and recognition through both formal and informal ways
• Partner with our key customers to drive business performance and be a key member of the team.
• Provide influence advice, insight, challenge and decision support with a strong customer delivery focus.
• Contribute to deployment of strategy and drive improved business performance through forward plans.
• Support performance delivery, bring financial expertise, objectivity, challenge and insight to the business.
• Leverage highest value initiatives to maximise shareholder value and optimize business financial outcomes.
• Act as a ONE Finance point of contact for our customers.
• Integrate the improvement plans of Functions (Technical, G&I, RTP, Commercial, Risk, IS&T, Capex, etc.).
• Leverage technology to provide insightful advice and identify new improvement opportunities.
• Ensure governance and compliance through effective application of financial controls and risk management.

About You

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have

• Strong focus on health, safety and environment; an ability to lead by example
• Bachelor degree in Finance and/or professional qualification MBA, ACA, CPA At least 5-8 years in a senior financial role
• Strong ability to coach the team on adopting a continuous improvement mindset
• Valid Driver’s License
• Experience effectively managing a wide range of senior stakeholders
• Analytical, strategic and forward thinking competencies
• Capacity to solve complex problems where precedent may not exist
• Continuous improvement, value creation with evidence of identifying and mitigating risks
• Strong background of leading, influencing and working with diverse teams in matrix model
