Manager: Logistics and Base Oil at MECS (Pty) Ltd

• A leading manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Manager: Logistics & Base Oil to lead its Base Oil, Warehouse and Dispatch operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring effective stock control and distribution, and delivering safety, service and financial performance objectives.

Please note that this is a 12-month contract position.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Base Oil, Warehouse and Dispatch teams.
• Drive logistics strategies to improve efficiency and reduce transportation and warehousing costs.
• Manage stock control, warehousing, dispatch and distribution activities.
• Ensure operational, safety and quality KPIs are achieved.
• Lead and develop teams, driving accountability and high performance.
• Manage resources to ensure effective operational coverage.
• Collaborate with Planning & Supply Chain, Production, Maintenance, Finance and SHEQ.
• Manage relationships with customers, distributors, port authorities and other external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with SHEQ standards, legislation and operational procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or equivalent.
• 5+ years’ experience in Warehouse Management, Truck Load Rack, Tank Farm and Vessel Operations.
• 5–10 years’ management experience.
• Strong knowledge of warehousing, logistics and distribution operations.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical, planning, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to changing operational requirements.
