    Manager- Project Portfolio Management

    Job Purpose:  

    • The Manager of the Project Portfolio Management Unit (PPMU) is responsible to oversee the independent and specialised Project Portfolio Management and advisory services.
    • The Manager will manage and advise operational functions and activities of Project Portfolio Management to support, empower and enhance the organisational ability to successfully manage, deliver and monitor the respective Project Portfolios successfully.
    • The Manager will work in close collaboration with the City’s Programme Management, Project Management, Engineering Management, Contract Management and Supply Chain Management teams in order to drive and improve the respective Project Portfolio planning, delivery and value for money. The Manager will be responsible to ensure decision making at key points of the project portfolio lifecycle, during the delivery of the Capital and Operational Budgets.

     

    Requirements:

    •  A relevant Bachelor’s degree.
    •  A Relevant Master’s Degree and/or registration with professional bodies in the built environment and /or project management space will be beneficial.
    • Project Management Professional (PMP), Programme Management Professional (PrMP), Portfolio Management Professional (PortMP) certification or IPMA Level C certification will be beneficial.
    • Engineering Management, Contract management and Supply Chain management knowledge will be beneficial.
    • Minimum of 8 year’s relevant experience.
    • A valid driver’s licence
    • Computer literacy
    • Strong Project scheduling and SAP PPM literacy will be beneficial.
    • Strong Local Government and Local Government finance knowledge will be beneficial
    • Good Communications, conflict management and leadership skills
